Future of City Mobility
Futureproof urban mobility– How will stakeholders, companies and citizens make it happen? Urbanisation refers to the population shift from rural to urban residency, the gradual increase in the proportion of people living in urban areas, and the ways in which each society adapts to this change. Cities struggle with traffic congestion where crowded streets is coming to a tipping point for the economic growth and emissions. This intensifies, for every aspect the need for sustainable solutions, where public transportations is the core. Simultaneously, technology is pushing boundaries to a world we just could imagine only 10 years ago. The mobility megatrends automated, electrified and shared cars will transform urban areas in infrastructure and mindsets. How can cities approach these new technological solutions to create better quality of life for people and business to grow? Mobility management and mobility as a service is the key. But are the inhabitants ready for this mindshift from owning a car to more services for less cars in urban areas? Are the business models ready? Are the stakeholders ready? If we deliver services for a better urban area is citizens ready to transform?
